Subjects, Objects, and Predicates

Brian skateboarded to the skate_park near the school.

He grinded on a rail and jumped over a staircase.

Brian was_meeting Dale and James but they were not at the park yet.

An older_student_named_Desmond was_doing tricks on the half_pipe.

Brian climbed to the top of the half_pipe and waited.

Once Desmond was_paying attention to him, Brian stalled on the lip of the pipe and then caught air.

It was a solid trick but Desmond knew that he could_outclass Brian.

Grinding and catching_air were easy for Desmond.

Desmond noseslid down the lip of the half_pipe and kickflipped into a pose.

Brian felt brave so he attempted the same_trick.

Brian almost landed the trick, but he slipped at the end_of_the_kickflip.

The board flew into the air just as Brian landed on his back.

Brian said, "Ow, that hurt!" and then the board landed on his belly.

Desmond groaned because he knew the pain_of_falling.

Desmond rolled to the hurting_skater and offered his assistance.

"You almost landed that kickflip," Desmond said while he extended his hand to Brian.

Brian took his hand and Desmond said, "When you see the grip_tape, catch the board."

Brian nodded, got to his feet, and brushed off the dirt.

Falling is a part of learning, Brian remembered.

"When Dale and James get here, I will_try that kickflip again," Brian said to himself.
