/ January 22, 2024Hello,
I have been looking for editable reading passages to teach in my classes. I am glad to have found this website as it seems to be offering what I am looking for :). I did have a few questions about the origins of the material. Are they owned by ereadingworksheets? and if so, was AI used to create the stories? I’m desiring to be diligent about the material used. Thank you so much! š

/ January 22, 2024Glad you found my site!
Yes, all the content on this site is human-crafted, complete with errors,
though I try to correct them when users report them.
I created almost all of the content except for these short stories:
https://www.ereadingworksheets.com/free-reading-worksheets/reading-comprehension-worksheets/#short-stories
Which I merely curated and wrote the questions.
Best wishes.

/ January 11, 2023Hi there!
Thanks for a free reading and printable materials you have posted through this website. This is a great help for me since I am currently working on English assessments which include passages for my students. Though it’s stated in your Terms of Use that you permitted everyone to utilize these for educational purposes (non-profit), still may I ask permission from you if I can use your materials as sources to be included in the said English assessment? This assessments will be used as a quarterly exam for students in a public school. Hope I can hear from you. Thanks much!

/ October 22, 2019Hello Mr. Morton,
I used your materials to teach Main idea to my students, they were so helpful!
I actually used it as a part of my EdTPA credentialing lesson segment. I have to cite sources that I have used that are not my own. Of course I would cite your website and give you all the credit for the reading passages I used.
Is this alright?

/ September 4, 2018Dear Sir or Madam:
I am a retired teacher and still enjoy teaching so much that I am doing some tutoring in my home. I help students improve their reading and writing skills. Your materials are so good I would love to use them with my students.
Is this acceptable use for my students. I won’t post on a website or sell them. I just want to be able to read the selections with them and discuss them in preparation for writing activities.
Mr. Morton
/ September 4, 2018You are absolutely welcome to use these resources for free in homes and classrooms. Contact me if you are a publisher. Best wishes!

/ July 9, 2018Hello Mr Morton,
Thank you so much for the great materials! I also have a question about terms of use. We are developing an intake placement test for our intensive English course and we would like to use some of the passages as part of the reading comprehension component. There is a $25 fee for the entire testing experience – reading, writing, grammar etc. May we use some parts of your articles for this purpose?
Best wishes, Stephanie

/ June 26, 2018Hello Mr. Morton,
I am a tutor and I also charge a little fee for my services when I teach students in their own home or in my tutorial center.
My students are predominantly underprivileged pupils from the black and minority ethnic group in London. My intent is to prepare them for admission into grammar schools so that they can have equal opportunities with those from a privileged background. I would also like to link the materials to my centre’s website so that students can practise them.
Am I permitted to use the materials for the students in my center?
Malkuth.
Mr. Morton
/ June 29, 2018Absolutely. Best wishes with your work.

/ June 3, 2018Dear Team,
We are a startup in India who are taking classes to develop English and soft-skills of the students in secondary school. We want Reading Comprehension to be a part of the classes to develop the students. The terms of the website mention that we can use it for nonprofit purposes. Just need clarification on that – although we don’t intend to sell or do anything of that sort with the passages discretely, we do charge for the overall course and make some profit out of it. In that case, is it allowed?
It is similar to this situation – if the teachers use it in classrooms of a school without making any money on the passage but the school generally makes some profit.
We have a lot of respect for teachers who make quality content and know how difficult it is to develop content that keeps the students engaged. It would be great if we could use a few passages from your website as well because we won’t be able to design such quality content.
Mr. Morton
/ June 29, 2018I’m ok with that. Best wishes!

/ February 10, 2017Hi there! I am a teacher and would love to use some of your material for a PowerPoint presentation. Is it ok if I borrow some of your material and use it for educational purposes? I would be happy to provide your website on my Resources page. š I read your Terms of Use page, and understand you allow it, but I would feel guilty not personally asking. I can tell you put a lot of work and effort in these resources and appreciate what you’ve done! š
Mr. Morton
/ March 13, 2017The whole point of this website is to provide people with free educational resources that they can use in their classrooms and homes. So, though it is not required, you have my personal permission to use these materials, Shawn. Best wishes and I hope that the stuff that I’ve made can help you.
