/ April 27, 2015Hi, I am primary school trained teacher but am currently supporting older pupils with additional support needs to access the subject of English. I have found this site excellent in updating my figurative language knowledge [ it’s been such a long time since I’ve done more than alliteration, similes and metaphors]. The activities are good and short enough for pupils with limited concentration. I can also use them in interactive ways with pupils to promote learning. Thankyou very much. Johnny

/ March 2, 2015Oh, you have to navigate using your browser tabs. Go back and forth between the windows by scrolling up, which should reveal your open tabs. Choose between the tabs by pressing on them. I’m going to develop a better way to do it, but that might not be ready until next year sometime. Best wishes!

/ February 10, 2015Hi Mr Morton
I am writing a course for approaching underachieving boys and I believe multiple choice comprehension is one of the best ways to get them thinking and avoiding ‘writing reluctance’. Your material is excellent and I would like to include an example and place a link to your site in my material. Would you mind?
Mr. Morton
/ March 2, 2015That’s fantastic.

/ December 4, 2014I noticed that my students can email their test results to me on the main idea test but only have an option to print on the adjectives/adverbs test. Their laptops do not allow them to print. I was unable to figure out a way to copy/paste the results into an email. Any suggestions? Do you have any plans on making all test results email-able in the future?
Thanks!

/ December 4, 2014Hello:
I’m sorry that you experienced problems using those tests.
They are an older format that isn’t really suitable for a modern computing environment.
I know that if you just click CTRL-P, you should be able to pull up a preview of the score sheets. All the button did was hit that shortcut for you.
That won’t fix the deeper problems with the Flash format, however.
I will update those worksheets some time,
but I’m currently putting a bunch of new reading worksheets online.
See here:
http://www.ereadingworksheets.com/free-reading-worksheets/reading-comprehension-worksheets/nonfiction-passages-and-functional-texts-worksheets-and-online-practice/
I’m working as fast as I can,
but realistically won’t be able to update those language arts worksheets
till the spring or summer.
Thanks for using the site,
and I apologize for any inconvenience that you may have experienced.
Best wishes,
Morton

/ October 6, 2014Hi.
Thanks for visiting my website.
I am currently working on some backend stuff
to help people find specific requests like this more easily,
but that won’t be done until around December.
In the meantime,
feel free to browse by skills.
There is a PowerPoint lesson available for just about every reading skill
that my site covers.
Additionally, you may use the search boxes at the top or bottom of the page
to make more specific queries.
For example, you may find this search for “PowerPoint” to be useful:
http://www.google.com/cse?cx=partner-pub-6437378143899169:0523176910&ie=UTF-8&q=powerpoint&sa=Search&ref=#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=powerpoint&gsc.page=1
Best wishes,
and I hope that you like my site.

/ September 19, 2014I cannot begin to tell you how valuable your site has been to me this past year. This is my 27th year in education, but only my second year at the middle school level. Your resources are absolutely wonderful and I greatly appreciate your willingness to make them available to others free of charge. The words “thank you” do not seem to convey the gratitude I feel, but they will have to do. 🙂

/ September 11, 2014I am a teacher, and I LOVE your stuff!! I use it often! Is there anyway that we could get a paper hand out version of your online tests? The ereading worksheets section all seems to be online only?

/ September 11, 2014Thank you so much for saying so. I’m happy to hear it.
You know, I have paper versions of all of those activities, but they are scattered around the site in their respective sections. I am currently working on building a database of the material on this site. This will allow people to find things way easier, filtering by grade level, skill, and such. It’s going to be great. I should have it up and running by December. Best wishes!
